Aeroflot has filed a lawsuit worth 7.3 billion rubles (about $86 million) in a Moscow court against Yakovlev, a manufacturer of aircraft such as the SuperJet 100.
The reasons for the lawsuit have not been clarified, however.
Yakovlev is one of the companies controlled by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which a few years ago concentrated the task of developing and manufacturing commercial aircraft in its subsidiary.

Jets such as the MC-21, previously under the responsibility of Irkut, and the SSJ100, developed by Sukhoi, have now become part of its portfolio.
The Aeroflot group operates the SuperJet 100, but through its subsidiary Rossiya. In September 2023, the Russian flag carrier announced a deal for 339 new jets, comprising 210 MC-21s and 89 SJ100s, a ‘Russified’ variant of the SuperJet.
However, months ago, Aeroflot said it intended to take delivery of only the MC-21, an aircraft with seating for up to 211 passengers and a contemporary design similar to the Airbus A320neo.
Both the SJ100 and MC-21 are facing major delays, although the Russian government expects the former to enter service in 2025 and the latter in 2026.
