Air China will resume flights between Beijing and São Paulo, Brazil, from April 28. The route had been suspended in March 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The route will have two weekly frequencies operated with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which can carry up to 293 passengers in three classes – 30 in Business, 34 in Premium Economy and 229 seats in Economy. The flight stops in Madrid, Spain.
Flight CA 897 departs the Chinese capital at 3 pm and lands in Madri at 9:10 pm, taking off again at 11:15 pm and arriving in Brazil at 5:55 am the following day.
Flight CA 898 returns at 10:05 am and lands in the Spanish capital at 00:40 am. The leg to Beijing starts at 2:40 am and arrives at 7:30 pm, all local times.

The Beijing-Madrid route will now have nine weekly frequencies while the connection between Madrid and São Paulo will have a fourth airline. At the moment, LATAM, Iberia and Air Europa fly on the route.
Expansion of flights to New York
Air China also plans to resume additional frequencies on the Beijing-New York route. From March 31, the carrier will increase from 3 to 5 weekly flights, operated with the Boeing 747-8, with 365 seats in four classes.
