The 737 MAX‘s safety issues have brought an end to a big deal for Boeing. Flyadeal, associated with Saudi Arabian Airlines, announced on Sunday an agreement with Airbus to buy 30 A320neo, another option for 20 aircraft.

The deal had been booked during the Paris Air Show as part of a request from Saudia and now revealed. Flyadeal is today an exclusive Airbus customer but had announced in December 2018 an agreement with Boeing for an identical order of 737 MAX 8 valued at $ 5.9 billion.

With the uncertainty about its return to operation after the two accidents with the companies Lion Air and Ehiopian, the 737 MAX loses a big request after its grounding in March.

The Flyadeal A320neo will be delivered from 2021 to join the A320ceo currently used by Saudi Arabia’s airline.

While there is no prediction about the return of the 737 MAX, several customers around the world have postponed their orders already predicting they can not count on the jet in a short time.
