Brazilian carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas has decided to strengthen its international flight network with the support of euroAtlantic.
The Portuguese charter and wet-lease airline has made available the Boeing 777-200 with 293 seats to take over part of the flights between Lisbon and Campinas, in Brazil.
The first flight was completed on Thursday, between the Portuguese capital and Viracopos Airport, its hub, with the aircraft registered CS-TSX.

According to a statement sent by the airline, the decision was made due to the problems in the global supply chain that have affected its fleet.
In a statement sent to travel agents, Azul explains that ground handling will continue to be carried out by its teams and that even on board the aircraft there will be crew members from the airline supervising the work.
In wet-leasing, the supplier offers the full service, with aircraft, crew and service.
Airbus A330neo with configuration criticized by passengers
Azul’s troubles with its fleet have been going on for some time. The company had to park several jets and turboprops at airports in Brazil due to the difficulty in keeping them in flying condition.
Before that, the airline ended up leasing two A330-900s that flew for AirAsia and were parked in Indonesia.
However, the jets came with a seating configuration criticized by Azul customers, with seats without entertainment systems and rows of nine seats in economy (3+3+3 instead of 2+4+2, as in its other A330neos).
The two aircraft will undergo retrofitting to have a cabin similar to the rest of the fleet.
