Brazilian carrier Azul may add two Airbus A321P2F (Passenger to Freighter) jets soon. The company reserved the registration ‘PS-AJA’ and ‘PS-AJB’ with the country’s government, which would be associated with the aircraft converted for cargo.
Both A321s come from China Southern Airlines where they had the registrations B-6267 (PS-AJA) and B-6270 (PS-AJB).
Manufactured in 2006, the aircraft were removed from operation between December 2023 and January of this year, when were returned to the lessor AerCap.

The B-6267 already appears in photos converted to a freighter while the B-6270 may be in the middle of the process in China.
High capacity
The A321P2F is a conversion from passenger to cargo jets funded by Airbus itself, with support from partner companies.
The aircraft has the capacity to transport up to 27 tons, which will represent a 35% increase compared to the Boeing 737-400F that Azul Cargo operates (20 tons).
The addition of the aircraft also represents synergy in training, parts and maintenance as the carrier has some A321neo in its fleet.
According to reports, the aircraft are expected to be received by Azul Cargo in the first half of 2025.
If confirmed, Azul will be the second operator of the A321P2F in Brazil, after Levu Air Cargo, which recently brought the first jet of the type to the South American country.
