Azul Linhas Aéreas held the launch of its new freighter, the A321P2F, a conversion of the Airbus passenger aircraft.
The event was held at its headquarters in Brazil, where the airline’s partners, such as Amazon, Samsung and Pague Menos, were able to see the aircraft.
“We were able to share more details about the operation with our customers, show the aircraft’s capabilities and, thus, start a new era of air cargo transportation in Brazil,” said Abhi Shah, president of Azul.

The two A321 freighters arrived in Brazil last November through leasing and will debut their first flights on February 15th.
Based at the Viracopos hub, the jets will fly to Manaus 12 times a week and on the Campinas-Recife-Manaus route daily.
The conversion made allows the transport of up to 27 tons of cargo. The jet has 14 pallet positions and a total volume of 212 m³.
According to Azul, the A321P2F offers 39% more weight capacity, 50% more cargo volume and consumes 27% less fuel per ton transported when compared to the Boeing 737-400F, of which the company had two aircraft and returned one in December.
