Azul Linhas Aéreas took delivery of its 18th Embraer E195-E2 jet. The delivery ceremony took place at the manufacturer’s facilities in São José dos Campos, Brazil, on Friday, November 10.
The PS-AEQ registration aircraft is the first to be leased from Azorra, a company based in Florida that has also renegotiated old Embraer jets that flew with Azul.
According to the lessor, two other E195-E2s will be delivered to the airline in the coming months.
The PS-AER and PS-AES jets are also in the process of being completed, which will bring Azul’s E2 fleet to 20 aircraft.
“Azul and Azorra have a longstanding partnership and we are proud to deepen this relationship,” said Ron Baur, President of Azorra.
“This E195-E2 marks the first of three modern crossover jets we are set to deliver to Azul. We are especially pleased to be delivering the first of our 35 firm aircraft on order with Embraer to such a great airline.”
After the ceremony, the PS-AEQ jet carried out the normal delivery procedure, flying from São José dos Campos to Montevideo, Uruguay, and from there to Confins, for its official entry into Brazil.
