The E195-E2, Embraer’s largest commercial jet, is due to receive a new order soon. Byelorussia airline Belavia confirmed this week that it is interested in purchasing two larger-capacity aircraft from the new E2 family.

The announcement was made by Gleb Parkhamovich, Belavia’s Deputy Managing Director, who revealed that the two E195-E2 are due to be delivered by 2021 and will receive a special paint job.

Belavia was founded in 1996 and currently has a fleet of 30 aircraft made up of the Boeing 737, CRJ100 and ten Embraer aircraft – 4 ERJ-175 and 6 ERJ-195.

The two ERJ195-E2 jets could take on the role of Belavia’s old 737-500 if it intends to reduce its operating costs. With a capacity of up to 146 passengers, the Embraer jet has a fuel consumption 15% lower than the E195-E1.

Embraer has undertaken a number of new airplane presentations around the world in recent months. The E195-E2 attended the Paris Air Show in June and also toured several countries in Asia. The latest appearance of the jet was at the MAKS air show in Russia.

The first E195-E2 will be delivered to Brazilian airline Azul this month. Boeing is expected to take over Embraer’s commercial jet sales and production from 2020 in a joint venture with the Brazilian company.
