BermudAir, the first airline based in Bermuda, has announced that it will expand its fleet of aircraft in the spring with two Embraer E190s.
With 96 seats, the E190AR-E1 jets will offer more passenger and cargo capacity and will join the two E175s that debuted with the company in 2023.
In addition, the E190 will allow BermudAir to serve more distant destinations thanks to the additional range of 1,000 km.

Among the new cities to be served starting in April are Hartford, Springfield, Raleigh-Durham and Charleston.
“After just one year of establishing BermudAir, we are thrilled to take this next step in our journey. Adding these two Embraer 190 aircraft will allow us to grow thoughtfully while ensuring we maintain the high standards of reliability and service our customers have come to expect,” said Adam Scott, Founder and CEO of the airline.
BermudAir, however, did not reveal how the aircraft will be acquired, but the most plausible hypothesis is through leasing.
Although it lists 96 seats, the airline usually sells only half of them to offer more interior space.
When it was launched, BermudAir intended to reconfigure the E175s with just 30 seats, but ended up changing its plans and selling half of the aircraft’s capacity (88 seats).
Currently, the airline flies from the Atlantic archipelago to cities such as Baltimore, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, in the USA, and Halifax and Toronto, in Canada.
