Airbus and Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation have entered into a new purchase agreement for 80 A320neo family aircraft.
The new order includes 60 A321neos, ten of which are long-range XLR version, in addition to 20 A320neos. This is the largest single order placed by BOC in its history, bringing its Airbus order backlog to 453 aircraft, between A320, A330 and A350 models.
“This is the largest single order that we have ever placed and it will bring our total Airbus aircraft purchased since inception to 546. It underscores our continued confidence in the A320neo family for its reliability and operational efficiency and reflects the popularity of the aircraft amongst our airline customers,” said Robert Martin, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, BOC Aviation.
The order, however, has a very distant delivery time. According to BOC, the 80 jets are scheduled to be delivered between 2027 and 2029. As is well known, Airbus is experiencing a boom in orders for the A320neo family and even with the forecast for an increase in the pace of production, the assembly line remains very busy.
