British Airways has scheduled an expansion in frequencies between London and Sao Paulo, in Brazil, from October 29th.
The current daily flight with the Airbus A350-1000 will be complemented by three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the winter season in the northern hemisphere.
The new flights will be operated with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which offers 214 seats in three classes compared to the A350’s 331 seats.

The 10 weekly frequencies connect Heathrow and Guarulhos airports, but while flights BA246/247 take place at night, the new flight BA240 will be during the day towards Brazil.
Virgin Atlantic postponed flight to São Paulo
The increase in flight offerings by British Airways comes as Virgin Atlantic has suspended its debut in South America.
Richard Branson’s airline had announced a daily flight between London and São Paulo for 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic postponed the plans.
In June 2023, Virgin rescheduled the flight to begin in May 2024, however, a new postponement pushed the inauguration to 2025 on a date not yet revealed.
