Trinidad Tobago’s state-owned carrier Caribbean Airlines (CAL) will add Embraer E175 regional jets to its fleet within 12 to 18 months, the company’s charmain, Shameer Ronnie Mohammed, announced.
The aircraft are expected to be leased, but the executive did not disclose numbers or other details.
Caribbean had previously announced plans to operate the 76-seat jet in 2023, when it saw demand for five aircraft. But the matter was put on hold in the following months.

Mohammed also said that CAL expected to receive three more Boeing 737 MAX 8s, but that supply chain issues had delayed the schedule.
Caribbean Airlines currently has a fleet of 10 737 jets (nine of which are MAX 8s) and 10 ATR 72-600 turboprops.
In 2024, the airline will carry more than 2 million passengers, up 6% from 2023.
Caribbean has also launched new routes to Puerto Rico, Tortola and Martinique.
