Cessna presented at NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas updated versions of two of its flagship business jets, the Citation M2 and the Citation XLS.
Aircraft were given the Gen2 suffix to designate technical and design improvements.
According to the manufacturer, the Citation M2 Gen2 for up to seven passengers will now have a new improved cabin, with premium interior styling and ambient accent lighting. Cessna also expanded internal storage space and added USB-A points at each seat, as well as wireless charging for cell phones.
In the cockpit, the co-pilot position was expand in three inches of legroom for enhanced comfort.
Citation XLS Gen2
Medium-capacity aircraft, the XLS can hold up to 12 passengers and now has a new stairway door in addition to cabin acoustic enhancement.
The seats were also redesigned for more comfort and the rear sofa is now foldable for easier access to the luggage compartment.
The jet received a new state-of-the-art cabin management system that includes a touchscreen, wireless charging, USB charging ports on each cabin seat and Bongiovi immersive speaker (optional).
“With the mindset that no detail is too small when shaping customer flight experiences, we’ve touched all areas of these aircraft to create the Citation M2 Gen2 and the Citation XLS Gen2 – from the cockpit to cargo area and everywhere in between,” said Christi Tannahill, senior vice president, Customer Experience.
Cessna stated that the Citation M2 Gen2 will be delivered at the end of Q1 2022 while the Citation XLS Gen2 will be available from Q2 next year.
