China Southern Airlines (CSA) has opened reservations for flights CB3539 and CZ3540 between Guangzhou and Shanghai (Hongqiao), deploying the COMAC C919 for the first time.
According to Aeroroutes, CSA’s C919 will debut on September 19, departing from Guangzhou at noon and returning to the same airport at 6:15 p.m. (local time).
China’s most advanced commercial jet, the C919, saw its first aircraft delivered to the Guangzhou-based airline on August 28.

On the same date, state-owned COMAC delivered the first C919 to Air China. The two Chinese carriers have firm orders for 100 jets each, which are expected to be delivered by the beginning of the next decade.
Ahead of the service debut, both China Southern and Air China have already begun training flights with their aircraft on Sunday, September 1.
The jet, registered as B-919J, completed two round-trip flights to Shanghai while the B-919X (Air China) flew to Chengdu from Beijing on both Sunday and Monday.
Air China, however, has not yet revealed when it plans to introduce its sole aircraft.
If it confirms its September 19 debut, China Southern will have completed a very fast preparation period compared to China Eastern, the first customer of the C919, which only completed its first commercial flight about five months after delivery by COMAC.
