Still establishing a stronger rate of production of the regional jet ARJ21, COMAC continues with the program of conversion of the aircraft for the transport of cargo.

After converting a first ARJ21-700 for evaluation, the manufacturer delivered another aircraft to China Central Longhao Airlines (Air Central), a cargo airline based in Guangzhou.

Air Central’s ARJ21F has registration B-3388 (MSN 109) and was manufactured just five years ago. It was delivered to Chengdu Airlines in March 2018 configured with 90 seats.

In September 2021, the aircraft returned to COMAC to undergo the cargo conversion process. The jet had a wide front door installed in addition to reinforcement in the main cabin floor to carry up to 10 tons of cargo.

The aircraft was spotted on April 27 in Guangzhou, from where it departed for test flights.

Until then, Air Central had only Boeing aircraft in its fleet. It operates eleven 737 freighters of the -300, -400 and -800 versions, in addition to a 747-400F.
