Copa Airlines will replace the Boeing 737-800 with the larger and more modern 737 MAX 9 on the Panama City-Rio de Janeiro route starting this week.
The aircraft, with capacity for 166 or 172 passengers, offers two classes of service, including business class Dreams.
Currently, Copa has two daily flights to the Brazilian city and one of them, the 872/873, will be operated with the 737 MAX 9. The second frequency (flights 215 and 216) will have the new jet in three days from week in July, replacing the 737NG on all flights in August.

According to the carrier, economy class also has 24 ‘Economy Extra’ seats, with more legroom, individual 10-inch screens with USB input and touch sensitivity, among other benefits.

Copa’s 737 MAX 9 fleet comprises 25 aircraft that have been configured in two ways. There are jets with 150 seats in economy and 16 in business, and also aircraft with 162 seats in economy and 12 in business.
