Embraer unveiled several technical improvements for the E175 and E195-E2 commercial jets in Farnborough, as promised.
The improvements affect several aspects of the aircraft, from operational efficiency to comfort and capacity in the case of the E2. In common, the upgrades will make jets more economical for their operators.

Many new features are applicable in the short term, while some may take longer, until mid-2026. Check out what planemaker revealed below:
E195-E2
Embraer’s largest commercial jet will be able to carry four more passengers, however, this does not mean having its maximum capacity increased from 146 to 150 seats.
The manufacturer, instead, optimized the main cabin to accommodate one more row of seats in more common configurations.
The E195-E2 has been equipped with 132 to 136 seats on most operators and in the new configuration it will be able to carry 136 and 140 passengers, respectively.
The increase means additional revenue of US$4.5 million per aircraft within a 15-year period, Embraer explained.
The biggest improvement, however, was in operational performance, especially range, which went from 2,600 nautical miles (4,815 km) to 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km).
It is a range closer to its rival, the A220-300, which can fly for 3,400 nautical miles (6,300 km).
The gains necessary to offer the extended range were obtained by increasing the Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW), from 62,000 kg to 62,500 kg and improving fuel consumption, which was reduced by 2.5%.
The aircraft will also feature improvements such as increased wing time from Pratt & Whitney GTF engines (10%) and the use of E2 Enhanced Take Off System technology, which provides a more precise and efficient takeoff, reducing the size of the runway required and the pilot workload.
Customers will also have the option of seats provided by Recaro.
E175
The best-selling commercial aircraft in Embraer’s history, the E175 continues to attract orders amid the absence of direct competitors.
Unable to offer its E175-E2 replacement to US airlines, due to union clauses, Embraer decided to introduce improvements to the E175.
Part of this involves going over items that exist on E2 jets such as larger overhead bins, ambient cabin lighting and Recaro seats.
Other technical improvements will only be available at the end of 2026 and include a satellite connectivity system via the Ku and Ka Bands and more modern weather radar.
Embraer will also equip the jet with a wireless data transfer solution with greater processing capacity.
The planemaker, however, did not mention the E190-E2, an intermediate variant of the E2, in its announcement of improvements.
