Embraer released a statement on Thursday in which it said it had reached its all-time record backlog in the 4th quarter of 2024.

According to the Brazilian company, the total value of orders reached US$26.3 billion, an increase of 40% compared to 2023.

The biggest expansion came from the executive jets division, which reached US$7.4 billion in orders, 70% more than the previous year.

The Defense and Security division came in right behind, with an increase of 67%, going from US$2.5 billion to US$4.2 billion.

The result reflects new orders for the A-29 Super Tucano light attack and training aircraft, which won 17 firm orders in 2024, and especially the agreements for the C-390 Millennium.

The airlifter, capable of carrying up to 26 tons of cargo, won three new customers last year: Slovakia, which will acquire three aircraft, Sweden, whose number of aircraft is not yet known, and finally a third undisclosed country, which signed a contract for two jets.

And for the first time, Embraer listed the customers with firm orders for the C-390, which together total 42 aircraft. The statement confirms that South Korea signed a contract for three Millenniums and also includes the agreement with an undisclosed country.

With the future signing of contracts with Sweden and Slovakia, the C-390 should soon reach nearly 50 orders.

New orders after 3 years

With no orders for three years, the Super Tucano also garnered good orders. The official list shows 17 aircraft on order, six for Paraguay, six for an undisclosed country (possibly the Philippines), four for an African nation and one for Uruguay.

The Uruguayan Air Force, however, already signed a new deal for five additional A-29s in January. In addition, Portugal confirmed an order for 12 A-29Ns, the NATO variant, but the contract had not yet been signed until the end of 2024.

There are therefore 34 Super Tucanos on order, most of which are expected to be delivered this year.
