With a fleet of four ERJ 145s, United Nigeria Airline has just received an Embraer E190, which will operate with the airline for the next 12 months.
The aircraft, registered SX-PTM, is supplied under a wet-lease by Marathon Airlines and landed in Lagos on October 31.
The E190 will complement the Nigerian airline’s flight network, which has been operating 50-seat ERJ 145s since 2020, one of which has been out of service since a runway excursion incident in May 2023.

nited Nigeria Airline has a predominantly domestic flight network, with only one international destination to Abuja, Nigeria.
The E190 SX-PTM has been in service for 16 years and debuted with Swiss carrier Baboo in 2008.
The airline ceased operations in 2011 and the aircraft was leased by Jetscape to Brazilian carrier TRIP, which was shortly after acquired by Azul Linhas Aereas.
In 2016, the jet was acquired by Nordic Aviation Capital and began flying in the United Kingdom until it was integrated into the Marathon fleet, which operated ACMI services for Air Serbia and Camair-Co.
The aircraft is configured with 100 seats and is expected to take over United Nigeria’s main routes in company with an Airbus A320 that will also be transferred to Marathon soon.
