Embraer delivered only nine commercial jets in the first quarter of 2021, four units more than in the same period in 2020, but below the average of recent years.
For the first time, the new E2 family had more deliveries than the first generation E-Jets. Two E190-E2 and five E195-E2 were shipped to customers while the E175, the planemaker’s most popular plane, had only two deliveries until March.
In the first quarter of 2020, Embraer delivered three E175s and two E2s. In 2019, there had been 10 E175 and one E190-E2.
The 2021 result so far has also seen the E195-E2, the company’s largest commercial jet, surpass the E190-E2 in number of total deliveries, 19 against 17 units.
Among the customers receiving the E195-E2 recently are KLM Cittyhopper and Air Peace, from Nigeria.
Embraer’s backlog has 272 pending orders and has not changed. However, total purchase options showed a decrease of 17 E175 jets.
Embraer had no sales agreement announced this year. The planemaker remains with a total of 1,904 cumulative firm orders, 175 of them from the E2 series. Up to March, 1,632 E-Jets aircraft had been delivered since production began.
