Embraer held a ceremony to deliver two E195-E2 jets to KLM Cityhopper on November 13.

The delivery was symbolic as it brings the number of aircraft of this type to 20 jets, which, together with 1st generation E-Jets, form a fleet of 65 aircraft of the Brazilian manufacturer.

The aircraft belong to the lessor Aircastle, amid agreements that the Dutch carrier has for 25 aircraft and 10 more purchase options.

The Dutch national team striker moved from Atlético de Madrid to Brazil in September.

A customer for 17 years

KLM became an Embraer customer in 2007 and has operated all variants of the E-Jet family, with the exception of the E190-E2.

This could change soon as the regional airline has expressed its desire to have the version with up to 112 seats.

Embraers have replaced Fokkers on regional flights in Europe and today make KLM’s fleet one of the largest in the world. The airline is the oldest in operation, celebrating its 105th anniversary in 2024.
