The Mexican Air Force had the opportunity to get to know the KC-390 Millennium airlifter on July 30 when the Embraer demonstration aircraft was in the country for a brief stopover.
The jet, registration PT-ZNG, had left the Farnborough Airshow on July 25, having made a three-day stop in Dublin, Ireland, where it also performed local flights.
On July 29, the KC-390 arrived at Air Base No. 1, in Santa Lucia, where the following day it flew for 1h30 with Mexican Air Force military personnel.

After the flight, the Millennium departed back to Brazil on July 31, arriving at Embraer headquarters on August 1.
Aging C-130 Hercules
The Mexican Air Force is looking for more modern transport aircraft to replace its two C-130Ks and one aging L-100-30.
Although it suggested more than 10 years ago that it might order the C-130J Super Hercules, the Air Force has also flirted with the idea of operating the Airbus A400M.
The good relationship between the governments of Mexico and Brazil, however, could favor the Embraer aircraft, which recently won a major deal in the country.
In June, Mexicana de Aviación, a state-owned airline relaunched in 2023, ordered 20 E2 jets that will be delivered starting in 2025.
