Embraer and the Government of Morocco formalized a strategic partnership for the development of the Moroccan aerospace sector during the 7th edition of the Marrakech Air Show (MAS).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the parties includes the creation of joint projects in key areas, such as commercial aviation, defense and urban air mobility.

The agreement also reinforces the commitment of both parties to strengthen Atlantic Cooperation, joining efforts between Brazil and Morocco, two countries of the Global South.

The partnership with Embraer aims to develop an integrated ecosystem in Morocco, with an emphasis on innovation, job creation and training of the local workforce.

The initiative also aims to foster economic growth through new possibilities in the aerospace sector, seeking to expand Morocco’s presence in the international market. Among the areas of cooperation, areas such as research and development, with a focus on decarbonization and sustainability, stand out.

The partnership between Morocco and Embraer aims to promote clean mobility solutions and explore the use of sustainable aviation fuels, positioning both as leaders in the development of greener aviation. The project also includes training and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) infrastructure as bases for strengthening the Moroccan aerospace industry.

Embraer’s Defense & Security division, especially in relation to the Royal Moroccan Air Force, is also part of the cooperation. Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, emphasized the potential of the C-390 as a strategic choice for the country’s tactical airlift operations.

He highlighted that Embraer’s support will include training, maintenance and logistics. “With a growing number of countries choosing the C-390, now is the ideal time for the Royal Moroccan Air Force to consider joining this strong community,” he said.

It is no coincidence that the country appeared on a slide in an Embraer presentation in September, during a meeting of airlifter operators, along with the United Arab Emirates.

Local media reported that the government had agreed to order the C-390 from Embraer, but there has been no official statement at this time.
