After being displayed at the Paris Air Show last week, Embraer’s KC-390 Millennium demonstration aircraft headed to Greece, where it was presented to the military of the Hellenic Air Force.
The aircraft with civil registration PT-ZNG provided by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) arrived in Athens on June 25, where it remained for two days before returning to the manufacturer’s headquarters in Brazil.

According to the Greek press, it was reported that the KC-390 passed by the Elefsina Air Base, on the outskirts of the Greek capital, where it was presented to the 356th Tactical Transport Squadron “Hercules”.
The European country’s air force unit operates nine four-engined Lockheed C-130 Hercules, but they are having several availability problems.
The urgency to replace them has led the government to propose the purchase of second-hand C-130J aircraft – Italy and the United Kingdom would be among possible suppliers as it is withdrawing its turboprops from service.
Prior to that, in January, the Greek Ministry of Defense informed that it had requested information about Millennium from Embraer Defense and Security, which held a presentation in the country.
In the West, the only options in this category are the Lockheed Martin turboprop and the Embraer C-390/KC-390.
