Emirates Airlines has decided to acquire five Airbus A380s that were leased by Doric Nimrod Air Two since 2012.
According to the lessor, the Dubai-based carrier has agreed to pay $200 million for the five aircraft that entered service in 2012.
Emirates had already done something similar with two other A380s owned by Doric Nimrod in 2023, which cost the airline slightly less.

The Guernsey-based lessor had acquired the aircraft from Airbus in 2011, all of which were equipped with GP7200 engines from Engine Alliance.
The aircraft have been leased to Emirates on a 12-year contract, which will expire between October 1 and November 30.
The five A380s are registered A6-EDX, A6-EDY, A6-EDZ, A6-EEB and A6-EEC. Only the first is not in service.
As the largest customer for the double-decker jet with 116 aircraft in its fleet, Emirates intends to operate the A380 until at least the middle of the next decade.
To this end, it has invested in a network of suppliers to keep the aircraft in proper condition even several years after the end of series production.
