Airbus has finally unveiled a new commercial aircraft deal that lives up to the Farnborough tradition. On Thursday, planemaker and Saudi low-cost carrier flynas announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 75 A320neo family aircraft and 15 A330-900 widebodies.
Flynas was already associated with an order for 30 A330neos since the middle of the first half of the year, but the new batch of A320neos shows that the airline has even more ambitious plans.
Operating since 2013 from Riyadh, flynas has an all-Airbus fleet that includes four A320ceo, five A330-300 and 53 A320neo, several of which were received this year.

According to Airbus, the A330-900 should be configured with up to 400 seats and will allow the carrier to deploy to more distant destinations.
The order for 75 narrow-body jets suggests that flynas may include other variants such as the in-demand A321neo.
Neither Airbus nor flynas have provided a delivery schedule for the new aircraft, which still depends on the actual signing of the contract.
With an order book that as of June had almost 8,600 aircraft pending delivery, Airbus is struggling to accelerate the production rate of its assembly lines to meet the huge demand.
However, this task has been difficult amid persistent supply chain issues.
