Marathon Airlines, a Greek company that provides wet-lease services, has found a new customer for its Embraer jets, Camair-Co.
Cameroon’s flag carrier received in March an E175 with 88 seats in addition to an E190 with 100 seats that previously operated with Air Serbia.
The Belgrade-based airline had broken its wet-leasing contract after a bizarre accident with an E195 operated by the Marathon crew that took off from the wrong section of the runway at the Serbian capital’s airport.

Despite having part of the wings, fuselage and horizontal stabilizer damaged, the aircraft managed to fly and returned to the airport after 40 minutes in flight.
The incident motivated Air Serbia’s board to end the agreement even before the causes of the episode were clarified.
Marathon Airlines has eight Embraer jets, three E195s, one E190, four E175s and one ERJ-135 in VIP configuration.
According to Cameroonian media, Camair-Co is expected to lease an E195 from Marathon soon. The airline has a diverse fleet that includes two ERJs, a Boeing 767, two 737s and two Dash 8 turboprops.
