Global Airlines, a new airline based in the United Kingdom, has postponed its expected launch of flights to 2025.
This is the second time that the carrier has postponed its plans. Originally it intended to start flying in early 2024, a forecast that was changed to the end of this year.
Founded by businessman James Asquith, Global Airlines goes against the grain of large, established airlines by putting its money on the Airbus A380 as a profitable aircraft.

Asquith, who became a celebrity for being included in the Guinness Book as the youngest person to visit 196 countries, has released optimistic and somewhat exaggerated statements about the project.
The flight of the airline’s only A380, which previously flew for China Southern Airlines, was considered by him as “historic”, despite the trip between Mojave, in California, and Glasgow Prestwick Airport, in Scotland, seeming somewhat trivial.
In a statement released on June 19, Global Airlines stated that the A380 9H-GLOBL is receiving the company’s livery, although images only show the name “Global” applied to the former operator’s layout.
The aircraft will begin undergoing maintenance services in the coming weeks, “that will take the airline a step closer towards launching passenger flights next year”, promises the fledgling airline once again.
The four-engine jet is expected to be configured with three classes of service and Global is betting on a “revolutionary” service to attract customers.
The first desired route is between London (Heathrow) and New York (JFK), competing with giants such as British Airways, American Airlines and other traditional carriers. None of them, by the way, fly with the Airbus double-deck plane.
