At the end of July, LOT Polish Airlines took delivery of its first E195-E2 from a deal for three Embraer aircraft signed with lessor Azorra in May.
The record-breaking delivery was possible because the three jets were already in the manufacturing process as part of another deal, agreed between Azorra and Malaysian airline SKS Airways, but which ended up falling through.
The delivery to LOT was symbolic for the E-Jet family, which has already accumulated more than 2,000 aircraft sold in two decades. The Polish carrier was the launch customer for the regional jet, having received an E170 in 2004.

Although sales are not as high as the first generation, the E2s are gradually gaining ground around the world and are already flying on all continents.
With LOT Polish Airlines, there are now 14 E2 operators worldwide. In total, 125 aircraft have already been delivered, plus one E190-E2 that is about to be handed over to its customer.
Of the two variants in service, the E195-E2 stands out with 103 aircraft delivered, while the E190-E2 accounts for the remaining 23 jets.
The largest E2 customer in Canada is Porter Airlines, which had a fleet of 37 E195-E2s. It is followed by the Brazilian Azul Linhas Aéreas, with 23 aircraft of the same type.
In Europe, there are two other major operators of the family, KLM Cityhopper (18 aircraft) and Helvetic Airways, which flies both the E190-E2 and the E195-E2.
Binter Canarias has been expanding its fleet, which currently has 10 E195-E2s.
Three new customers on the way
In Asia, Kazakhstan’s Air Astana has five E190-E2s, while Singapore’s Scoot has the first two of the same model. Nearby, there is a single E190-E2 that operates charter flights with Pionair in Australia.
In Africa, for now, the E2s are flown by Nigeria’s Air Peace, which has five of them in its fleet. And in the Middle East, Royal Jordanian already has four E2s, two E190-E2s and two E195-E2s.
On the European continent, there is also TUI fly Belgium with three leased E195-E2s, Norway’s Widerøe, the E2 launch customer, and LOT, which will have three E195-E2s later this year.
Finally, there is an E190-E2 that serves a soccer team in Brazil.
There are other customers on the way, however. Embraer is expected to deliver jets to Salam Air, Luxair and Mexicana de Aviación in the future.
