UK low-cost airline Jet2.com has announced a new deal with Airbus, this time to take delivery of 35 A320neos. The leisure carrier previously closed an order for 36 A321neos in August 2021, ending Boeing’s dominance of aircraft in its fleet.
With the incremental order, Jet2 now has a total of 98 aircraft in the Airbus single-aisle family. With purchase options, the order can reach up to 146 aircraft
The A320neo will be configured with 180 seats, explained the manufacturer. Jet2 stated that the aircraft deliveries stretch over three years until 2031 and at base price represent a total value of approximately $3.9 billion. Currently, Jet2 has 102 jets, most of them from the Boeing 737-800, with 77 units.
“We are delighted to build on our existing relationship with Airbus and to have this additional aircraft order which provides the Company with certainty of supply well into the next decade,” said Jet2 plc’s Executive Chairman Philip Meeson.
