JetSmart debuted on Monday the flight between São Paulo (Guarulhos) and Santiago de Chile, starting to compete on one of the busiest routes in South America.
The Brazilian city is the largest on the continent and the third to be served by the Chilean ultra low cost, which already flies to Rio de Janeiro and Foz do Iguaçu. In addition, the carrier has flights from Rio to Buenos Aires and Montevideo, operated by its affiliate JetSmart Argentina.

Initially, the flight between São Paulo and the Chilean capital will be carried out five times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but the plan is to make it daily from July.
“Brazil is a strategic market for us, as it is a territory of continental dimensions that will allow us to connect different Brazilian cities with other Latin American countries, on direct flights offered with an innovative model that allows our passengers to pay only for what they use, ” said Victor Mejía, CCO of JetSMART Airlines.
According to FlightRadar24, the new flight will be operated with Airbus A320ceo and A320neo aircraft.
The connection between the airports of Guarulhos and Arturo Merino Benítez is also made by JetSmart’s Chilean rival, Sky (daily flight) and by LATAM, which offers more flights between the two cities – Gol intended to resume its flight, but ended up postponing it the relaunch indefinitely.
