Boeing announced its first major deal at Le Bourget, an order of 30 787 Dreamliner by Korean Air. The order includes 10 787-9 and 10 787-10, the first of the Asian company. In addition, it will lease another 10 787-10 from the Air Lease Corporation.
“As we continue to innovate our product offering, the 787 Dreamliner family will become the backbone of our long-haul fleet for many years to come,” said Walter Cho, Chairman of Korean Air.

The deal valued at $6.3 billion at current list prices still needs to be confirmed and also includes the supply of GEnx engines from General Electric. Korean Air already operates 10 Boeing 787-9 that complement its fleet of 747, 777 and A330.

The ALC leasing company, which has drawn attention in Paris for being involved in various deals, also announced the order of five Boeing 787-9, confirming how Dreamliner has been requested by its customers.
“Demand for reliable, versatile, fuel-efficient airplanes is at an all-time high,” said Steven Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation. “These five Boeing 787-9 aircraft are required by our airline customers to satisfy strong ALC lease placements of the 787.”
The Boeing 787 already has more than 1,400 aircraft sold since the start of its program.
