The coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) in Brazil forced LABACE 2020 organizers to postpone its date, previously scheduled for August. Largest business aviation event in Latin America, it would have its 13th edition based at Congonhas Airport, in São Paulo.
The Brazilian Association of General Aviation (ABAG), organizer of the fair, however, intends to reschedule it for some date this year. “At this moment, the idea is that it will still occur within 2020, at a later date than the traditional date, to be notified in advance,” said a statement sent to its associates.
The first edition of LABACE (Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition) was held in 2003 and has alternated years of great movement with less prestigious ones. In 2019, despite the small number of aircraft, the event claims that it received almost 13,000 visitors.
Dassault, Embraer, Gulfstream, Leonardo, Helibras and Brazilian companies TAM and Líder, representing Cessna and Honda, respectively, were present at the stands.
Brazil has the second largest business aviation fleet in the world, behind the United States.
