Still some way off from its first delivery, Luxair, the flag carrier of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, has ordered two more E195-E2 jets from Embraer.

The aircraft will join the original order for four jets announced in 2023, which included an option to purchase two E195-E2s.

The first of Luxair’s six E195-E2s will be delivered in late 2025 and is expected to enter service in early 2026. The two new jets will be manufactured in 2027, the Brazilian manufacturer said.

Starting in 2026, these aircraft will mark the beginning of a new era for Luxair, bringing quieter operations, superior fuel efficiency, and unmatched passenger comfort to our customers,” said Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair.

“We thank Luxair for the trust they have shown in Embraer with this follow on order, coming before the delivery of their first E2s next year. The E2 is perfectly suited to Luxair’s operations and ambitions, closely complementing Luxair’s existing and on-order fleet, ensuring the maximum level of fleet and network optimization to the airline for the long-term,” said Marie-Louise Philippe, SVP Sales and Marketing of the commercial aviation division.
