All Nippon Airways third A380 (Airbus)

After a year parked in Airbus facility in Toulouse after being officially handed over to All Nippon Airways (ANA), the A380 registration number JA383A finally took off for Japan on Friday.

The aircraft is the third and last ordered by the carrier that used them on flights to Hawaii. ANA’s A380s have a configuration with 520 seats in four classes – 8 seats in First Class, 56 in Business Class, 74 in Premium Economy and 383 in Economy.

ANA was the last customer of the world’s largest passenger jet, which will end production at the end of this year with the delivery of the 251st A380 to Emirates Airline.

After receiving the first two A380s in the first half of 2019, All Nippon intended to have the third aircraft in May 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic caused the company to change plans and delay delivery.

Two A380 remaining

The take-off of ANA’s orange A380 took place a week after the third to last completed plane was delivered to Emirates Airline.

The A6-EVQ registration aircraft left Airbus’ Hamburg facilities for Dubai on October 7th. There are now only two A380s left to be delivered and production completed.

The jets also belong to Emirates, the model’s biggest customer, and which should receive the last A380 between November and December.
