Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus celebrated a positive 2024, where it achieved total sales of 1.633 billion Swiss francs (US$ 1.8 billion), up 10.5% compared to 2023.

In the period, 153 aircraft were delivered, just five more than the previous year, due to lower demand for the single-engine turboprop PC-12.

On the other hand, the PC-24 business jet surpassed its best mark achieved in 2023 and delivered 51 aircraft, four more than before.

Since entering service in 2018, the business jet that is capable of operating on unprepared runways has already had 282 aircraft delivered.

PC-21 trainers (Pilatus)

In the military division, Pilatus once again delivered the PC-21 military trainer, of which six aircraft were sent to customers.

“Despite the challenges, we achieved important milestones in 2024, with yet more portfolio development,” said Hansueli Loosli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pilatus.

New orders

Pilatus highlighted new contracts recently signed, such as the supply of 19 PC-21 trainers and simulators for use by the Royal Canadian Air Force. The aircraft will be maintained and operated by a third-party company.

Recently, the Netherlands confirmed the acquisition of eight PC-7MKXs that will replace aircraft of the same type received in the 1980s.

The company also became part of the RUAG Aerostructures company, including machinery and 230 employees, in addition to expanding its operations in countries such as Spain and the United States.

Despite the drop in deliveries, the PC-21 achieved an achievement, the delivery of two aircraft for military use, one of them to the Royal Thai Army.

The executive model continues to reign practically alone in its segment since its future rival, the Beechcraft Denali, continues with delayed development and with type certification expected for 2025.
