The route between Casablanca and São Paulo (Guarulhos) will be held from December 7, initially with three weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with takeoff at 4:40 pm and landing at 10:20 pm (local hours).
The return occurs at 0:20 am the next day, arriving in Morocco at 1:15 pm (local times).
Royal Air Maroc will fly with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, but has not revealed if the variant will be 787-8 (274 seats in two classes) or 787-9 (302 seats). There are nine wide-bodies in their fleet today.
“We are very happy to take over the Casablanca-Sao Aerial Route Paulo suspended from the Health Crisis. It is part of our development plan and will strengthen our network in long transport and especially to mark our return to Latin America,” said Hamid Addo, CEO of Royal Air Maroc.
The airline started the two countries in the 70’s with a flight to Rio de Janeiro that lasted until the 1990s. Royal Air Maroco had a route to Brazil in 2013, linking Casablanca to Sao Paulo.
The carrier’s air network is focused on Africa, Europe and some Middle East countries. Transoceanic flights only include three destinations in the United States and one in Canada at the moment.
