The state-owned group United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), which controls Russia’s main aeronautical manufacturers, delivered a new batch of Sukhoi Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Air Force on Friday. The number of aircraft included in the most recent shipment was not informed.

One of the most advanced pieces in Russia’s military inventory and in use in the war against Ukraine, the Su-35S is the latest version of Sukhoi’s Su-27 “Flanker” family. It is a single-seat multirole fighter with an emphasis on air superiority, but also capable of other types of missions such as ground attack operations and electronic warfare.

The new batch of fighters was accepted by technical teams of the Russian Air Force, which tested each of the aircraft in various modes of operation, the UAC said. The new Su-35S were assembled by the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, located in the far east of Russia.
