Absent from the Paris Air Show, Saab found another event to demonstrate its defense systems. The Swedish manufacturer confirmed on Monday that it will be present at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2023, the largest military air show in the world.
The event at RAF Air Base (Royal Air Force) in Fairford, England, will take place between the 14th and 16th of July.
At RIAT 2023, Saab will present to the public the Gripen E fighter and the GlobalEye early warning and air control (AEW&C) aircraft – which uses the platform of the Bombardier Global 6000 business jet. .

“Gripen E and GlobalEye show just how much Saab and Sweden have achieved when it comes to technology leadership,” says Dean Rosenfield, Managing Director Saab UK and Saab’s Chief Marketing Officer.
No other company has the same level of air systems capability all under one roof. When it comes to aircraft design, sensors, electronic warfare, weapons, communications, command-and-control, system integration and everything else you see in these two platforms, Saab stands in a class of its own.”
The Air Tattoo has been held since 1971, only being canceled on three occasions (2008, 2020 and 2021).
It is considered the biggest event of its kind, bringing together manufacturers promoting their products and exhibitions by air forces from different parts of the world.
According to the organization of the festival, up to 200,000 spectators are expected in this year’s edition. At least 180 aircraft will be presented in Fairford, between static exhibition and in-flight demonstrations.
