SKY Express, from Greece, took delivery of the seventh ATR 72-600 ordered directly from ATR in December.
The aircraft is part of an order for two ATR 72s placed by the IOGR group, which controls the airline. The second aircraft is expected to be received in 2024.
With the new turboprops, SKY Express should have eight ATR 72-600s in addition to six ATR 42-500s. The carrier also has two other ATR 72s leased since 2019 whose fate is unclear.
“As we continue to grow our regional fleet, we are pleased to operate the youngest ATR fleet in the region and have commitments to further standardization and fleet improvement beginning in the first quarter of 2024,” said Captain Konstantinos Iliakis, CEO of SKY Express.
“SKY Express is once again placing its trust in ATR to extend its fleet, investing in the most fuel-efficient, versatile and cost-effective regional aircraft to open up new opportunities,” added Nathalie Tarnaud Laude, CEO of ATR .
SKY Express also has eight Airbus A320neo and two A321neo, in addition to a single A320ceo.
