A unique sight emerged on Saturday at Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru, India. Two US Air Force (USAF) F-35 fighter jets arrived at the venue to take part in Aero India 2025 and were met by a Russian Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jet.
One of the F-35s passed just a few meters away from the Russian jet, enough to capture the historic moment in aviation.
The Su-57 had arrived at the Indian Air Force base earlier this week and will take part in the flight demonstrations at the exhibition in the coming days.

The two Lockheed Martin fighters belonging to a squadron based in Alaska, on the other hand, will only be on static display.
This is the first time that the Su-57 has taken part in the Indian air show, whose country is considering producing it under license.
United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), the parent company of Russia’s aerospace manufacturers, has been working hard to find foreign customers for the Su-57, which it considers a stealth fighter.

For Western analysts, however, the fighter lacks several mandatory features for aircraft with low radar signature. These include exposed rivets, large gaps between panels and an apparent lack of radar-absorbent material.
The Indian event is a rare venue for the two aircraft to be brought together, as the local government has open channels with Russia, as well as with the European Union and the United States.
The Su-57 also participated in the Zhuhai Airshow in China at the end of last year, where it paraded alongside the new Chinese stealth fighter J-35, the latter with features that corroborate its alleged stealth.
