First Airbus A220 delivered to TAAG in Canada

Aircraft took off from Montreal to Luanda on Thursday and debuts the Angolan airline’s new livery

TAAG Angola Airlines took delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 in Montreal, Canada, on September 19.

The aircraft, registered D2-TAA, was flying to Luanda to be received at the African carrier’s headquarters.

The new jet is one of 15 leased by TAAG from Azorra and ALC. The A220-300 is configured with 137 seats, 12 in business class and 125 in economy.

The A220-300 will debut the airline’s new livery, unveiled in July.

TAAG currently has a fleet of 23 aircraft consisting of nine Boeing 737NG (eight 737-700 and one 737-800), five Boeing 777 (three -200 and five -300ER) and six Dash 8-400 turboprops.

The fleet renewal will also include the arrival of four Boeing 787 Dreamliners soon.

In addition, TAAG is in the process of moving its hub to a new international airport in Luanda.
