A FedEx Boeing 767-300F flying between Paris and Istanbul on May 8 had a technical problem that prevented the nose landing gear from lowering before landing in Turkey.
After flying over Istanbul Airport to ensure that the front landing gear had not been deployed, the Boeing 767 pilots made a controlled landing, with the aircraft’s nose dragging along the runway for a few hundred meters.

Cameras at the airport recorded the moment the 767 landed.
Despite the friction with the ground generating flames, the Boeing stopped safely and fire engines soon covered the runway with flame-retardant material.
The two pilots left the Boeing 767 uninjured and FedEx was arranging for the aircraft to be removed from the runway.
Flight FX6238 took off from Charles de Galle Airport at 01:45 and landed at 8:17. The aircraft registration N110FE is equipped with GE CF6 engines and was delivered to FedEx in 2014.
