A serious accident on Friday, August 9, occurred with a VoePass ATR 72 aircraft in Brazil.
The aircraft crashed in the Vinhedo region, in São Paulo, with 62 people on board. There were no survivors, according to the authorities.
Images from a video show the ATR in a kind of flat spin until it disappeared behind a hill.

The aircraft, registration PS-VPB, had taken off from the city of Cascavel bound for São Paulo (Guarulhos) on flight 2Z 2283.
Data from FlightRadar24 shows that the aircraft had begun descent procedures when it began to fall precipitously at a rate of up to 24 thousand feet per minute.
Images from the crash site reveal that the ATR 72 partially hit a residence, but there was no victims on the ground.
According to information from the Fire Department, the fall occurred at 1:25 pm.

Aircraft in service for 14 years
The VoePass ATR 72-500 originally entered service in 2010 with Belle Air and later flew in Indonesia with Pelita Air Service before being leased to VoePass.
The aircraft was configured with 68 seats in a single class layout and used two PW127F engines.

ATR aircraft have been the most successful turboprops in regional aviation over the last decade, and are practically the only model from the 1980s that remains in uninterrupted production.

The aircraft took off from Cascavel-PR bound for Guarulhos Airport, with 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board.
VOEPASS has taken all measures to support those involved.
There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board.
